Frequently asked questions
Have questions about our website or the information it provides? You're in the right place.
Are internships provided?
We carefully select the most interesting internships for our students, in which they can participate on a voluntary basis. These include internships at De Munt/La Monnaie, Mister Gay Belgium, Miss Exclusive, Francisco Ferrer – Fashion School, and many more! These internships can take place on course days, at weekends or during holidays. They can also take place during the day or in the evening/night.
What does a standard course day look like?
A typical day in the Academy starts at 9:30h, with a 3 hour demo given by the teachers. After a lunch break of an hour, the students can practice themselves on the theme of that day, from 13:30h until 16:30h. These typical teaching days will be interspersed with practical days, where the students can practice all day on a given theme or technique.
Communication during classes is in English, French and Dutch, so for both multilingual and monolingual students, this is a very valuable learning opportunity. Personal Feedback will be given in the student's native or preferred language (French, Dutch or English).
How does the registration process work?
The first step in the application process is a meeting with the director of the Academy Dries Welsch. If you want to enter the ACADEMY, you will need to write a motivation letter, and take your portfolio with you (if you have one). The director will decide if the MAKE UP FOR EVER ACADEMY is the right place for you, and if your chosen course is a good fit for you.
If you are selected, a deposit will be requested to reserve your place in the Academy. The remaining balance must be paid before the start of classes.
Would you like an installment plan? You can suggest an installment plan on your registration form, and together we will see if it is feasible!
What are my career options after the academy?
For a MAKE UP FOR EVER alumnius, there are lots of job offers, whether as a make up artist, brand ambassador or sales person. Brands such as MAC, Bobbi Brown, ICI PARIS XL, Benefit Cosmetics, Dior, Chanel engaged our alumni as freelancers or with an open-ended employment contract. An education at the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy opens doors!
By training in a renowned school like the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy, many of our alumni can start their careers immediately after graduation. Due to our detailed and extensive teaching schedule, our alumni 's are also asked to teach in other schools in and outside Belgium. Our artistic module is one of the many strengths of the Academy, which is why our alumni 's are asked to give specialised make up master classes because of their expertise. Choosing to persue a career in education gives the make up artist a more regular professional life, as the teaching schedule is predefined. This contrasts with the life of a freelancer, where variety is the norm. The working conditions of a freelancer are highly variable, intense periods with lots of assignments alternate with more calming moments. So there is something for every character in the make up world.
Where are the classes taking place? Can we visit the Academy?
Our classes take place at Mont Des Arts/Kunstberg 18 in Brussels, a 2-minute walk from Central Station. You can visit the Academy during the open days throughout the year. If you would like to come at another time, an appointment can be made with the teachers, who will be happy to help you further! Contact education@makeupforever.be to make your appointment.
